Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of TolReport ("Service"), operated by Kevin Lund DBA TolReport ("we", "us", or "our").

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

TolReport is a web-based software tool for performing 1D (linear) tolerance stack-up analysis. The Service provides worst-case (WC) and statistical (RSS) analysis, sensitivity calculations, and PDF report generation for Pro subscribers.

What TolReport is not: TolReport does not accept CAD file uploads, does not perform 3D tolerance analysis, and is not a replacement for dedicated GD&T simulation software.

3. Data Storage

Anonymous Users (Not Signed In): Project data (dimensions, tolerances, assumptions) is stored locally in your browser using localStorage. We do not have access to anonymous user data. Clearing your browser data or switching browsers will delete your projects.

Signed-In Users: When you create an account and sign in, your project data is stored on our servers (Cloudflare) tied to your account email. This enables access from multiple devices and serves as a backup. You can delete individual projects in the app or contact support@tolreport.com to request account deletion.

Regardless of sign-in status, you are responsible for ensuring your data meets your backup requirements.

4. Free and Pro Tiers

The Service offers a free tier and a paid Pro tier:

  • Free: Up to 3 projects, 5 dimensions per stack, full analysis, all templates
  • Pro: Unlimited projects and dimensions, PDF export, priority support

5. Subscription and Payment

Pro subscriptions are billed monthly ($19/month) or annually ($149/year) through Stripe. Payments are processed securely by Stripe; we do not store your payment card details.

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account or by contacting us. Access continues until the end of the current billing period. Refunds are not provided for partial billing periods.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code from the Service
  • Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, and content, is owned by Kevin Lund DBA TolReport and protected by intellectual property laws. Your use of the Service does not grant you ownership of any intellectual property rights.

You retain ownership of any data you input into the Service. We do not claim ownership of your tolerance stack-up data or exported reports.

8. Engineering Disclaimer

THE SERVICE IS A CALCULATION AID, NOT A CERTIFIED ENGINEERING TOOL. Analysis results are for informational purposes only. You are solely responsible for:

  • Verifying the accuracy of all inputs and outputs
  • Ensuring results are suitable for your specific engineering application
  • Obtaining appropriate engineering review and approval for safety-critical designs
  • Complying with applicable industry standards and regulations

We are not liable for any engineering decisions made based on Service outputs.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim.

11. Modifications

We may modify these Terms at any time by posting the updated Terms on this page. Material changes will be noted with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Service after modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service at our discretion, with or without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or the Service.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
